Thankfully, the actress kept it simple for the red carpet. We remember when the lady last wore black, it turned out to be a fashion disaster. Her sheer outrageous dress in velvet at the premiere of Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" has gone down into the Fashion’s Hall Of Shame.
Mallika’s dress for the opening party of Doha Tribeca Film Festival was designed by a budding Turkish fashion designer. The dress' bust area was fully embellished with stones and crystals while the bottom was plain in black satin. However, it was no different from her previous red carpet appearances as we have seen Mallika in a cutout gown recently in Cannes. Nevertheless she looked fabulous with her winning smile.

Also present at the glitzy first day was the Hollywood hottie Salma Hayek, who also happens to be a jury member for the DTFF Arab Film Competition. Salma walked the red carpet in a gold and black Alexander McQueen dress.
