Shahrukh Khan solo appearance on 'Koffee With Karan': Yesterday, Shahrukh shot alone for an episode of this season's Koffee With Karan.

Shahrukh Khan has finally made an appearance (albeit, a solo one and his first) on this season's Koffee With Karan. The actor shot for the episode yesterday. KWK host Karan Johar says he has taken a break from the gossip format for the episode with buddy SRK.

He reveals," This is a slight deviation from our usual chatty, controversial Koffee episode. Intellectual and intense was the mantra for the episode with Shahrukh . This time we have covered what really makes him tick and who better than me, his closest friend, to explore that space! We took a call and decided to have him solo as with another person, the energies get divided."

Johar, who got emotional while hosting the show, adds, "This is the first time that I got SRK on the couch alone. The interview was an in-depth one, where we delved into the inner recesses of the beautiful mind. Shahrukh hasn't done a proper solo TV interview for a long time."

KJo goes on to promise that the hour-long episode is dramatic and full of exciting revelations. "Print interviews are different and Shahrukh hasn't done a solo interview for print or TV in a long time. The show will be aired on New Year (January 1). What can be bigger than to start New Year with Shahrukh Khan?"

Shahrukh took home two gift hampers one was Karan's usual Koffee goodie bag and the other, a special tohfa from Nature's Basket, sent over specially for King Khan.

Shahrukh Khan face again Shiv Sena for IPL?: Shah Rukh Khan is again in the eyes of the SHIV SENA as he has hosted a dinner party for the news channel prime TV on November 26 in London, which was the second anniversary for the martyr's who died after the terrorist attack in Mumbai.

Though, Shiv Sena was angry with Shahrukh Khan because he wanted to include Pakistan crickets in IPL.

As if that's not enough, he makes an international filmmaker wait for six hours and turned his offer down in the end. The film went on to win Oscars, leaving him with remorse. It may be recalled that Shahrukh turned down Danny Boyle's film Slumdog Millionaire, which won stole the show at the Oscars a few years ago.

Shahrukh Khan to make his career with Oscar-winner Danny Boyle!: The Oscar-winner Danny Boyle has had plans to make another film on the city of Mumbai ever since he completed Slumdog Millionaire.

So, Danny set his eyes on the critically acclaimed novel by Suketu Mehta, based on Mumbai, Maximum City: Bombay Lost and Found and wants Shahrukh Khan in the film.

This time the Khan can’t say no to Danny. Earlier he refused to do Slumdog and that role went to Anil Kapoor. Now, Anil is shooting for Mission Impossible 4 and has also acted in a US TV series. As per reports, Danny will start shooting the film by 2011 and has met Shahrukh for the project. However, the novel has the city of Mumbai as its main character.

As sound engineer Resul Pookutty, who won Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire, tells a tabloid, ‘Maximum City’ will be very different from Slumdog.

We agree to him as the book explores the interconnected worlds of Mumbai’s slum-dwellers, bar dancers, the dingy underworld and even the Hindu radicals.

Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan meets tough competition: Shahrukh Khan: Rumour has it that Shahrukh Khan is pulling the strings to ensure that Tees Maar Khan meets tough competition at the box office.

There has been an uneasy chill between SRK and his once close friend Farah Khan ever since the latter roped in Akshay Kumar for her soon-to-release film Tees Maar Khan (TMK), dropping SRK like a hot potato. King Khan, who certainly commands respect from film frat, wasn’t pleased being snubbed.

Now, when TMK is set for release on December 24, the gossip mills are abuzz that SRK is using his clout to harm the film’s prospects at ticket windows. How?

SRK is a close friend of the people who head Eros International and he has persuaded them to postpone the release of their film Toonpur Ka Superhero, starring Ajay Devgan and Kajol, from December 17 to Dec 24. Which means that Farah’s TMK which was earlier the solo release on Christmas weekend will now have competition from Toonpur Ka Superhero.

It’s a development that surely won’t go down well with Farah and Akshay who had banked on the uncontested Xmas weekend to set the cash registers ringing.

The spokesperson of the Eros International is quoted to have said that Toonpur Ka Superhero was postponed because it’s a children’s film that can have more audiences around Xmas. Whether SRK had any influence in setting up this clash, no one is willing to stick their neck out and confirm.

When Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan met?: Hrithik Roshan the dancing sensation of Bollywood has a distinct attraction for his senior Shahrukh Khan. It seems as if the two were really meant to be brothers as was depicted in the KJO flick ‘Khabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham’ a few years ago.

Recently when Shahrukh Khan wanted to see the Sanjay Leela Bhansali flick ‘Guzaarish’ at his place Mannat in Mumbai, he had got arrangements to see it with his family and friends. Hrithik Roshan who was quite unwell had stayed back home to relax even as his wife Sussanne went for the special screening at SRK’s place. Sussanne and Gauri, Hrithik’s and Shahrukh’s wives respectively are the best of friends and they always spend a lot of time whenever time permits.

But just after the film had started, there was a phone call from the big brother Shahrukh Khan to Hrithik Roshan, saying that he was very impressed with the latter’s work in the movie. SRK immediately asked Hrithik to be at his place so that they could have a one on one chat about the great role that Hrithik had portrayed as a paraplegic.

Now, as is well known, Hrithik just cannot say no to SRK. So out he popped from bed and rushed to Mannat forgetting all about his fever and stuff.

Well, reportedly the two discussed everything about portraying characters with chronic diseases on screen and since SRK had also portrayed the role of a mentally affected patient in KJO’S flick My Name Is Khan, he perfectly understood Hrithik’s character of Ethan in Guzaarish who was a paraplegic.

Well, what do we call it? Mutual understanding of one bro for another?

Shiv Sena launched fresh attack against Shahrukh Khan: On Friday, the Shiv Sena launched a fresh attack against Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan.

In the party’s mouthpiece Saamna, SRK has been severely criticized for agreeing to perform at a function for a Pakistani TV channel on the second anniversary of the 26/11 terror strike in Mumbai.

But SRK’s office in Mumbai claims that the superstar hasn’t taken on any such assignment and that he is presently shooting for Farhan Akhtar’s film Don 2 in Berlin, Germany.

However, the scathing editorial in Saamna said that SRK lived in India, worked in Mumbai, constructed “a palace” (Mannat Bungalow in Bandra) in Mumbai but agreed to do a song-and-dance for a Pakistani TV channel in London, ostensibly to help the victims of the recent floods there.

Earlier this year too, the Shiv Sena had targeted SRK for his comment favouring the inclusion of Pak cricketers in IPL tournament. The party had tried to forcibly halt the release of SRK’s film My Name Is Khan.

German hotel allow to Shahrukh Khan can puff the cancer stick!: Shahrukh Khan without his dose of nicotine? Nah! The actor is permitted to smoke in a hotel during his stay in Germany. Special treatment for special guest as the rules don’t allow puffing cigarette in public places.

King Khan is staying in a Berlin hotel for the shooting of his film Don 2, and since everyone knows SRK smokes like chimney, the hotel officials allowed him to follow his habit. In Germany, lighting up is prohibited since 2008 especially in hotels and restaurants, but not in SRK’s suite.

As producer Ritesh Sidhwani tells a tabloid, “Shah Rukh’s suite has a terrace attached and they (the hotel authorities) were kind enough to allow him to smoke only on the terrace.” Germany loves Shahrukh; in fact, the Berlin mayor gave him a personal tour of the majestic Town Hall, the Rotes Rathaus, reveals reports. German media too is going gaga over the actor.

It has been more than two months since SRK began shooting in Berlin for ‘Don 2.’ So, is it possible for King Khan to forego his ciggie?

Shahrukh Khan will work in 'The Departed' Hindi Remake: We have seen Hindi remakes of American films in the past and some have been great while others have been disasters. The new remake that is being talked about definitely has great potential of becoming a hit.   Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is set to do a film with  Producer Vishal Bhardwaj next year.   If they decide to remake Martin Scorsese's  "The Departed"  SRK will be playing the role Hollywood actor Leonardo Dicaprio plays in the film.    Khan and Bhardwaj have been discussing working on this project for a while now.

Back in February Shahrukh Khan met up with Hollywood actor Leonardo Dicaprio and Director of Hollywood film, "The Departed" at the Berlin Film festival.   Their meeting was  obviously more than they let on at that time.  Reports back then suggested that it was a casual meeting between industry members.   Shahrukh Khan also spoke about how he met  Director Martin Scorses  at the Cannes film festival in 2002 and how Scorses wants to watch Devdas because they premiered it at Cannes that year.

There was no buzz about the project at that time.   But now word is out and it all makes sense.    If this project goes into production it will definitely not happen before 2011.  Both Bhardwaj and Shahrukh are tied up with their own projects.    Shahrukh Khan is very busy with his films Ra. One and Don 2  so he doesn't have time to discuss the project with Bhardwaj.  Vishal is also tied up with his current projects including "Saat Khoon Maaf."   Although he too is eager to discuss working on the remake he doesn't have time to think of it just yet.   "The Departed" is a very popular Hollywood film that was appreciated by the Indian audience.   The public anticipates this project!

Shahrukh Khan suddenly lost all interest from Twitter?: After posting regular updates on Twitter, Shahrukh Khan seems to have suddenly lost all interest in the social networking site.

The superstar last posted his birthday pic on November 3 from Berlin where he was shooting Farhan Akhtar’s film Don 2. When SRK did not tweet for a whole week after that, it was obvious to presume that he was busy with the film’s shoot.

But now that the star is back in Mumbai and has had a few days to rest and relax as well, he did not post any new message on his Twitter page! Is he losing interest, just like Aamir Khan who posted his last tweet in August? Or is SRK just taking a sabbatical from social networking on the net.

More than seven lakh followers could be disappointed if SRK decides to quit Twitter at this point.

After Hrithik, Shahrukh Khan will become a next superhero?: The Bollywood Hunk Hrithik Roshan is one of industry’s finest talent and has great versatility to augur well with his hunky and Grecian body. In fact, Hrithik was the one who gave Bollywood its first major super hero in the form of ‘Krishh’.

Though, in the past, films like ‘Ajooba’ and ‘Mr. India’ have shown veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor in the light of a superhero, they couldn’t capitalize on it due to the absence of any continuing franchisee.

Hrithik was, therefore, regarded as Bollywood’s first big superhero with extra special talents. However, now all that may change as the King Khan SRK is getting ready to flex his muscles and show his super heroic skills.

Shahrukh Khan’s next film ‘Ra. One’ has been in the news for quite some time. It is special coz not only shall it end the SRK-free dry spell at box office but also mark the Badshah’s foray into this genre.

And we all know that SRK gives it his best everytime he takes up something with intense zeal. ‘Ra. One’ has some association with videogame and SRK’s character shall have the power to solidity electricity which is intriguing.

Though not much is known about the exact nature of his character, SRK may well be the next big superhero. But will he surpass Hrithik’s Krishh? We shall soon know….

Shahrukh Khan as a Villain in Dhoom 3: Yash Raj films is ready to produce the upcoming movie from ‘Dhoom’ franchise. But, the certainty over the director’s chair for the movie is still unknown. Sanjay Gadhvi has decided to quit the movie after directing the first two movies. He has the contract for the three movies but he is not interested to direct the third movie.

Lots of sources are reporting that, the maker of the movie, Aditya Chopra will direct the movie but the news was still not confirmed yet by the makers. Aditya Chopra was the producer for the first two movies and he will also produce the third movie.

One of the sources from inside of the project has reported that, “Dhoom 3 has been in the news for the longest period. While there have been all kinds of speculations about who will direct the film, one thing was always clear that Vijay Krishna Acharya (of Tashan), better known as Victor Acharya, is writing the script.”

There was no confirmation yet that, who will play the negative lead role in the movie. Time of India has reported that, Shahrukh Khan will play the negative role in the ‘Dhoom 3’. SRK is also showing the interest to play the role.

Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will reprise their original roles for the third movie as well.

Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu Movie Review - Inspiration with SRK: The difference between fiction and reality is that the latter bites. And for some starry-eyed fans of Bollywood mega stars, the line between the two seems to blur at times. Theatre actor-director Makrand Deshpande’s debut film as director, SBKHT is a tale of one such ordinary girl who is smitten with her screen idol Shahrukh Khan.

Laali (Preetika Chawla) is a flower seller at a traffic signal in Mumbai. One day, Shahrukh himself stops by at the signal momentarily and compliments Laali on her pretty looks. “Khoobsurat hai tu,” he says and from then on these three words become the gospel truth for this petite basti dweller who has a jealous and possessive lover - a bookseller named John on the same signal - to contend with.

A rebuked John sees himself as a lovelorn Devdas pining for his Paro who’s lost in the daydreams of Shahrukh Khan. There’s also a feisty bar dancer who sees herself as Chandramukhi and tries to woo the devastated Devdas.

SBKHT begins on a shocking note and then settles into a slumberous pace as the characters are established. What stands out the most in the film is the authenticity with which Deshpande captures the grime and squalor of a basti. The story does seem disjointed at times as a number of aggressive characters are thrown in - a cop, a local don and a journalist.

Among actors Preetika stands out with her dreamy-eyed act. Deshpande plays the gangster. Shahrukh has a fleeting cameo. The film gets a tad repetitive in the second half.

SBKHT is at best an optimistic experiment. At worst, it’s a dull film that leaves you bored.

Shahrukh Khan and Makrand Deshpande are not friends: Makrand Deshpande, the "Makdee" guy, has come to be better known as Shah Rukh Khan's friend in recent times, thanks to his directorial venture "Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu", which revolves around Shah Rukh complementing a girl for his looks and how that affects her life.

Shah Rukh also makes a special appearance in the film. But Makrand dispels all misconceptions about his relationship with the superstar. "Shahrukh is not my friend; it is he who calls me his friend," he clarifies and goes on to elaborate, "SRK and I have known each other before we worked together in " Circus" but I have never called him my friend.

Bollywood is mostly about professional contacts." So what about news that the SRK had had a falling out with his friends in Bollywood? "When people have worked with Shah Rukh for years, they start considering him their friend. But a man like him, I doubt, has time to either keep his friends happy or fight with them. And these rifts come when he can't do favours for his friends," replies the filmmaker.

But according to Makrand, Shah Rukh was not irreplaceable for his film, though he was the first choice. "I don't think any other Khan in the industry can have the same impact as SRK has on others. There is a clear difference between his aura and others'," he says. But if not Shah Rukh, the film then would have been based on Mr Perfectionist in Bollywood. "Though it would not impact a girl much if Aamir told her ki tu khoobsurat hai, yet he would be my second choice for the movie since he is a very good teacher and even in real life people listen to him," he reasons.

But his upcoming film aside, Makrand has also been playing cameos in films and serials. However, his cameo in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" extended into a rather long one. "TV doesn't interest me much, and I made an appearance on "Kyunki..." only because of the continuous persistence of Ekta Kapoor. She told me that it was like a cameo and I only had to shoot for eights days. But unfortunately, as I would call it, the character picked up so well that I was told I can't leave the show just like that and had to shoot for several months before I could call it quits. I became the hot topic of discussion among women at kitty parties," laughs Makrand, who will now be playing another cameo in the serial "Bhagowali".

And Makrand believes that it is his signature style – the overgrown hair and the salt-and-pepper beard – that fetches him roles. So want as much as he may, to change his look, he can't. "In our industry the acting prowess of an actor is hardly put under consideration; it is basically his looks and his popularity that is kept in mind while handing out roles. This weird look of mine has been quite popular. People like to see me like this and so writers write roles keeping my look in mind. My next films "My Friend Pinto" and "Guzaarish" with Sanjay Leela Bhansali have me in almost the same look," he shares, adding, "I am excited about the latter because I've worked with my favourite lady in Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai in the film. And thanks to Hrithik who suggested my name for the small role that I have in the movie," he smiles.

Shahrukh Khan play as a Fading superstar opposite Ranbir Kapoor: He is a superstar and his charming ways are still intact, yet Shahrukh Khan makes a perfect actor to play a fading superstar in a film that will also star Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. In a Hindi remake of a Bengali film, the makers are keen to rope in these two stars.

The Bengali movie is Autograph which is doing really well at the BO, and seeing its success and the storyline, the producer of Ghajini, Madhu Mantena, has made up his mind to work on its Hindi remake. As he is quoted as saying, “I think the era of remakes from regional languages into Hindi is back.”

The movie Autograph tells a story about a superstar who is working with an ambitious young director. Later the director’s girlfriend ends up playing the superstar’s heroine. In the original, Bengali actor Prosenjeet essayed the character of the superstar. The Hindi one will most likely have SRK.

The remake will be directed by Srijit Mukherjee who also helmed the original Bengali film. However, it’s believed that a few changes will be made in the script because SRK might have apprehensions about playing a fading star.

SRK and Ranbir make for a terrific combination. What do you say?

Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One releasing next Diwali?: Those who have been itching to see Shahrukh Khan again on the big screen will have to be patient. The film, earlier slated for release in June, may not hit the marquee before October 2011.

Blame it on SFX. Since SRK is putting his heart and soul into the sci-fi extravaganza directed by Anubhav Sinha, the superstar is hell-bent on ensuring the best quality special effects for the film that has him playing a superhero.

SRK is also mindful that Rajinikanth’s latest box office quaker Endhiran (Robot) has set a new benchmark as far as sci-fi superheroes go. SRK, being who he is, will surely aim for raising the bar and doing so will require greater labour and time on the film’s look.

So the SFX work, which was supposed to be over before June next year, will now take longer, according to sources associated with the film. Consequently, Ra.One has been pushed to the festive season and might release during the Diwali weekend of 2011.

Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan or Aamir Khan: Who is the most loving?: While Aishwarya Rai or Katrina Kaif (or even Priyanka or Kareena) may be the most admired woman of the B-town, Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir are the most loved actors, especially, when it comes to the roaring Khans. Now, who, amongst the trio is the most loved Khan?

While, Shahrukh has been carrying the title of King Khan for a long time now, Aamir is called the ace and the perfectionist. Salman has always remained a mega star despite the box office fate of his films. But, of course, post the colossal success of ‘Dabangg’, none is questioning Sallu’s box office prowess any more.

Shahrukh, being the king of romance that he has been (with films like DDLJ, Kuch kuch Hota Hai, Dil to Pagal Hai, Veer Zaara, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and so many others), he has always found a soft corner amongst the women. 7 out of 10 women would, instantly, hail SRK as their fav.

Similarly, Salman, too, being the handsome hunk that he is, has been an important part of the female fantasy. Aamir, on the other hand, is the original chocolate boy. Besides, the quality of films he has done, of late, has catapulted him to the Everest of popularity and there is no doubt that he is the darling of a huge chunk of movie buffs.

Will Aamir Khan to work with Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan?: Bollywood is a place of wonderful eventualities. Earlier, every one wanted to rope in Aamir and SRK together but Aamir had reservations working with another big actor. However, now he is prepared to work with him but there’s no one capable enough to cast them together. Or let’s put it this way! A script hasn’t taken birth that may pull them in together.

Aamir Khan has finally professed his desire to work with Shahrukh given that a suitable script comes his way. When quizzed if he would ever work with the likes of SRK or Salman, this is what he replied: “Why not? If there is a suitable script I would definitely work with both Shah Rukh and Salman. But at the end of the day it is the script that needs to be worked upon.”

At one point of time, the news was rife that Aamir and SRK may work together in ‘Dhoom 3’ for which Aamir was being considered to play the cop and SRK the baddie. But perhaps the reporters got too optimistic. After all, it would have to be something really powerful (in terms of script) to have them onboard together.

Aamir has also shown his inclination to work with Salman and he has been desiring a sequel to ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’. However, the original film maker hasn’t been able to come up with something great; and rue the writer if you like, but a script is still to be made that can have Aamir and SRK together.
